PACMAN by AND-RÉ wins Iberian Urban Equipment Prize 2012
These funny recycle bins, designed by the Portuguese studio AND-RÉ, have won Iberian the Urban Equipment Prize 2012 in the category of urban furniture.

According to the studio, PACMAN is a product that “is changing the mindset of the citizens in their relation with recycling”. With a round white shape and a colored mouth that distinguishes one from another, these bins are authentic creatures that are prepared to eat all the garbage they can.

This award is a partnership between the Journal Architectures and Larus - Urban Design, with institutional support from the Portuguese Design Centre and DIMAD - Designers Association of Madrid, and aims to recognize the best projects and pieces of urban infrastructure developed over the past five years.
